Old Town Cape, Inc. will host the sixth annual Downtown Cape Girardeau Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) – Old Town Cape kicks off the holiday season in downtown Cape Girardeau with its Christmas tree lighting event.

The lighting is set to take place on Friday, November 29 at 5:30-7:00 p.m.

You’ll be able to watch Santa and Mrs. Claus light the thirty-foot Christmas tree in the Vasterling Suites courtyard for the holiday season.

There will also be live music from the Harry Ford Ensemble and Christmas carols.

Other elements of the festivities include illuminated aerial acrobatic performances, food and hot drinks from local food trucks, a vote for the best decorated food truck and grilling of s’mores around fire pit stations.

The food trucks and s’more stations will be available from 5:30 p.m

The ensemble and carolers will play and sing at 17.45 to welcome Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus who will arrive at 18.10 and at 18.20 Santa lights the tree.

Fountain Street, between Broadway and Themis, will be closed to vehicular traffic but open to pedestrian traffic from 14.00 Friday 29 November 2024.
