Hollyoaks has revealed Tony Hutchinson’s new plan, after his ex-wife Diane told a big lie.

Diane has been hurt by Tony’s new relationship with Mariebut she has accepted that he has moved on and this week she even suggested the pair go on a date.

Ro has made it clear that he is not impressed with his father’s romance, and he was not happy to see him getting ready for the date.

At school, Ro and Arlo were both annoyed at the talk about their parents going on a date, and when Arlo revealed that he had brought a bottle of wine, Ro agreed to drink it with him.

Things didn’t end well, as when Arlo made sure Ro was caught sleeping in class, John Paul was shocked to discover the wine in Ro’s bag.

When Diane called the school, she tried to get in touch with Tony, but he was too busy with Marie and had turned on his phone.

When he eventually realized and returned home, he found Diane holding the bottle of wine confiscated from Ro—and he assumed Diane had relapsed.

As he hugged her for support, Diane decided not to correct Tony and let him believe the wine was hers and not Ros’s.

In scenes to air next week, Tony continues to support Diane as she continues to pretend she’s relapsed, and Ro overhears her lie.

Diane admits that she did this to try to win Tony back, but Ro insists that she must tell Tony the truth.

Later, Tony tells Mercedes that he will always be there for Diane even though they are divorced, and he decides to invite his ex-wife to a meal for two.

Diane is hopeful when she shows up for their dinner, but she gets a huge shock when there’s a plus one for the meal – Marie!

How will Diane react and will she be able to properly make amends with her friend?

Hollyoaks airs Monday-Wednesday with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7, then an E4 airing the same evening at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their release on Channel 4.
