Chris O’Keefe says it’s time for a discussion to consider compensating victims of high-profile data breaches after another Home Office data breach.

He calls for a proper deterrent to protect customer data and if companies and governments can’t protect customer data – they shouldn’t.

“Shouldn’t there be real accountability? If we’re putting our personal information in the hands of these companies, shouldn’t they be responsible for protecting it?” he said.
