Near-record temperatures will continue in Phoenix ahead of Halloween week standby

PHOENIX (AZ Family) — The high pressure ridge that controls the weather will strengthen slightly towards Saturday. This means temperatures will be in the mid-to-upper 90s on Friday and Saturday, with a chance of reaching 100 on Saturday in some desert areas.

High temperature records for Pheonix are 96 on Friday and 98 on Saturday. There’s a good chance we’ll equal or break at least one record, if not both.

High temperatures on Monday will still be above normal but will be a little cooler at 93 degrees.

A front is moving through Monday night into Tuesday, which will cause a massive temperature drop of about 20 degrees across the state!

The front for the High Country will bring wind gusts up to 40 mph on Monday and Tuesday. There will be a chance of showers and snow in the mountains, but this looks set to be a mostly dry frontal passage.

The front for the Valley will likely bring dry and windy conditions on Tuesday, with highs dropping into the 70s!

The weather looks cool and pleasant for Thursday night (Halloween) Trick-Or-Treating; temperatures reach the low 70s just before sunset and then drop to the low 70s and upper 60s.

There are signs that the cold weather may continue next weekend, but stay tuned for updates.
