Thirty years after the publication of Forrest Gumpstars Tom Hanks and Robin Wright reunite with director Robert Zemeckis for a new film guaranteed to make you cry, called Here.

Directed by Zemeckis, who also co-wrote the screenplay Forrest Gump author Eric RothHere chronicle the many lives and stories unfolding over many decades in a single household. It actually isn’t one Forrest Gump sequel – the story is based on the 2014 graphic novel by Richard McGuire – but it really feels like Rumps spiritual successor.

Hanks and Wright star as a married couple, Richard and Margaret Young, while Paul Bettany and Kelly Reilly star as Richard’s parents, Al and Rose. The film has received positive reviews from critics so far, and will no doubt be a crowd pleaser for families looking for a holiday watch.

The Tom Hanks movie Here will only be available to see in theaters when it opens in the US nationwide on Friday, November 1st. You can find a performance near you via Fandango. Here is not yet available to watch online or on streaming.

Here currently not streaming on Netflix or Max, as the film is only released in theaters. Right now the only way is to watch Here is at a cinema. As I said, because Here is a Sony film – released by Sony TriStar Pictures – we expect to see it streaming on Netflix eventually.

Here likely won’t make it to Max, the streamer owner of Warner Bros., because it’s not a Warner Bros. movie. You will be able to buy Tom Hanks movie Here on Prime Video eventually, when the movie becomes available to buy and rent digitally, but you won’t be able to stream Here on Prime Video for free with a Prime subscription. If you want to watch Here movie at home, you have to wait for the movie to become available to buy or rent on digital platforms, or wait for it to stream on Netflix.

Here likely to be on Netflix sometime in early 2025. Netflix has a act with Sony Pictures giving the streamer the rights to the Sony films in the “Pay 1” window, meaning the first streaming window after the film’s home media release. Other new Sony movies, including The Garfield Movie and Bad Boys: Ride or Diecame to Netflix about four months after its theatrical release.

If Here follows the same release pattern, you can expect the new Tom Hanks movie to be streaming on Netflix in early March 2025, or four months after the movie opens in theaters. In the meantime, you can go see the movie at the cinema.
