LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) – The Laredo City Council will convene on Monday, November 18 for its regular meeting.

District 3 Council Member Melissa Cigarroa explained that after the recent boil water notice, the city’s focus continues to be water infrastructure and making sure the city stays on track with repairs.

With that in mind, she (Cigarroa) says some of her agenda items will open discussions to secure a secondary water source for the community, an issue she believes the city needs to lead.

Cigarroa mentioned, “My item on the upcoming agenda is to instruct the Utilities Department to also work on secondary water sources. It’s written to have a person within the department be responsible for that, but we may have to turn to consultants.”

Cigarroa added that it is important for the city to address both issues.
