Philadelphia Eagles kicker Jake Elliott wants someone to wake him from his nightmare.

Eagles kickers struggled Thursday, missing two field goals and an extra point — all wide — costing the Eagles seven points against the Washington Commanders on Thursday Night Football.

Elliott missed a 44-yard field goal in the first quarter and a 51-yard field goal in the second quarter. He hit a 21-yard field goal before halftime, and then a 31-yarder in the third quarter.

The Eagles took a 12-10 lead with 12:00 left in the fourth quarter before Elliott missed an extra point attempt. Elliott later recovered and hit two extra points after two Saquon Barkley touchdowns.

“The fact that we were able to pull this out after everything I put them through was pretty special,” Elliott said after the Eagles’ 26-18 win. “No one bats an eye. Everyone has a lot of confidence in me, which I appreciate.”

Historically, Elliott has hit 85.7% of his field goals. This season he is 13-for-18 for 72%, but 0-for-4 from 50 yards and beyond. He entered the game a perfect 23-for-23 on extra points before missing in the third quarter.

Elliott said he planned to watch video of all his kicks over the weekend to figure out what went wrong. He said he felt good about every kick and appreciated that his teammates came over to support him, even if the fans might not be as positive.

Many booed Elliott after he missed his second kick and extra point, and gave him sarcastic cheers when he converted.

“I don’t need a lot of positivity around me,” Elliott said. “I also don’t need someone to tell me that I suck and that I need to fix it right now. I kind of take it on. I’m my own harshest critic.”
