Fort Bend ISD elementary staff under investigation

Three Fort Bend Independent School District employees are reportedly on administrative leave as the school district while the district investigates alleged misconduct.

Fort Bend ISD parents are concerned after a principal’s email announced an employee’s unexpected suspension. Now they demand to know why.

“We deserve transparency. We deserve to know. Our kids deserve to be safe at school,” said Susan Barrientos, parent of Fort Bend ISD students.

The email sent Tuesday cites inappropriate behavior by a Quail Valley Elementary School employee. The district said it immediately opened an investigation and the staff member was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. The employee has since resigned from Fort Bend ISD.

“I tried to reply back and ask some questions, but it was a blocked email,” says Barrientos.

Barrientos is concerned about the situation at Quail Valley Elementary. Her youngest child is a student there.

“It’s not like parents want to know the names of who is affected. We’re not trying to be nosy. We just need reassurance that the district is doing everything in their power, even in this situation,” said Barrientos.

In a statement, Fort Bend ISD reiterated what they said by saying “allegations of inappropriate conduct by a Quail Valley Elementary School employee were immediately investigated by the district, and the staff member was placed on administrative leave. The staff member has since resigned from Fort Bend ISD.”

But it is not the only incident that is being investigated. The statement goes on to say “allegations of misconduct by staff at Colony Bend and Goodman Elementary schools continue to be thoroughly investigated by the district; additional information cannot be shared at this time.”

The district did not confirm the status of the staff from those schools. `

“The district needs to understand where we’re coming from. We’re parents, and we also pay taxes to our school district. So we should know,” Barrientos said.

FOX 26 News will continue to ask for details about the allegations at the elementary schools.
