Tulsa Woman Celebrates 3.5 Years of Recovery Through Heartfelt Photoshoot

A Tulsa woman struggled with addiction for years before a recovery house helped her get better.

She celebrated that trip last Friday with the help of a local photographer.

The light didn’t come right away. Crystle Moore had to fight to get away from the darkness she carried for most of her life.

“I was still very angry, depressed and I had so much fear. I didn’t trust anyone.”

It stemmed from years of addiction and depression. To cope, Crystle became addicted to drugs and alcohol.

“There was no life in my eyes. The smile I had on my face was completely fake,” she said.

But in time the light returned. Crystle has been in recovery for three and a half years.

“It’s still going strong,” she said.

To celebrate her strength, Candice Love captured it as part of her Redemption Photo Series.

Candice has photographed more than ten people in recovery. Her hope is to take their photos and stories and turn them into a book.

“I love being able to experience the smiles and the joy,” she said.

“I know there’s going to be such a light in my eyes and so much joy in that smile that it’s genuine and true,” Crystle said.

She found the light and wants to inspire others struggling with addiction to find it too.

“It’s worth it. Every minute of it is worth it,” Crystle said.
