The Ministry of Education will launch a new pre-school curriculum in 2026, emphasizing an even balance of 50 percent Malay and 50 percent English.

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said the initiative aims to improve early childhood education through a bilingual approach while integrating other comprehensive education strategies for preschools under the ministry, the Department of Community Development (Kemas), the Department of National Unity and Integration and private institutions that use the national curriculum.

The new curriculum will also focus on character building among preschoolers.
