Armenia’s statements indicate its reluctance to participate in CSTO events — diplomat – World

LIMA /Peru/, 15 November. /PAW/. Armenia’s statements reveal its plans to distance itself from all forms of cooperation within the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin told reporters.

Asked about Yerevan’s possible participation in the upcoming CSTO events, including a summit at the end of November, he said that this question should be addressed to the Armenian side.

“However, judging by the statements of the Armenian side, it distances itself from absolutely all formats of CSTO activities at various levels,” he said.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan previously said that “CSTO creates threats to Armenia’s security, its future and sovereignty.” Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan told an international security forum in Warsaw that Yerevan was considering all the risks of its potential exit from the CSTO.
