Hub City entrepreneurs gear up for Small Business Saturday

JACKSON, Tenn. – Over 30 vendors will be present at a local event guaranteeing you great deals and community spirit.

Small Business Saturday is a nationally known event used to celebrate local entrepreneurs as well as remind community residents to shop local. The director of the Downtown Jackson Development Corporation said some things to expect are pop-up vendors and food. She also told that most people have been into online shopping lately, but online shopping is taking away the growth of local businesses.

“It is so important to support our small businesses. They are the ones who keep our local economy going. If you shop, I would encourage you to think about the purchases you make, I hope you will choose to shop local and shop small,” said Beth Ann Simpson, director of Downtown Jackson Development.

The event will take place on November 30 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

“Businesses will have different deals going on and promotions and we’ll share that. Then downtown Jackson will be put up on theLOCAL,” Simpson said.

You can also stop by the JDDC table to pick up your items downtown and receive small stickers for purchases made on theLOCAL.

“You’ll get an extra stamp on your passport that counts as double, so there will be some extra incentives on the day to encourage people to shop on November 30 for our Little Business Saturday,” Simpson said.

Simpson also said that local businesses are what help create the fun and exciting entertainment that we have downtown and across Jackson.
