Nurses union at RRMC to hold “Day of Action” over permanent contract

RUTLAND, Vt. (WCAX) – The union representing healthcare workers at Rutland Regional Medical Center is holding an informational pilot Thursday to draw attention to ongoing contract negotiations.

Union officials say they are not getting support from the hospital administration and will hold the day of action from 2.30pm to raise awareness and ask for support from the community. The work will take place on South Main Street in front of the fairgrounds.

In a statement, Rutland Regional Medical Center officials said they value and appreciate the nurses’ dedication, hard work and professionalism. “We are committed to reflecting that effort in our agreement as we continue union negotiations in good faith. We are confident we will reach a fair and just agreement,” they said.
