FIRS opens recruitment portal – News – The Guardian Nigeria News – Nigeria and World News

The Federal Internal Revenue Service (FIRS) has opened a portal for interested parties to apply for recruitment.

FIRS announced this on its website on Friday morning, adding that it is looking for candidates with integrity and a strong desire to excel professionally, and those who have strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

“Following our earlier notification of Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) recruitment opportunities, we are pleased to inform you that the application portal, firs.gov.ng/careers will be officially opened by 12:00 on 2 November 2024,” said FIRS.

The application closes on 14 November 2024.

FIRS listed details of the application process for the role of Revenue Officers (Officer Il and Officer I) in various locations across Nigeria.

Available Positions: Revenue Officers as Officer II and Officer I. Locations: Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, Ekiti, Lagos, Oyo Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit: Candidates must be 27 years or below by 31st December 2024.

NYSC Completion: Applicants must have completed their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) by December 31, 2021.

In terms of qualifications required, applicants must have a First Class/Second Class Upper Division Bachelor’s Degree (or HND) in one of the following disciplines: Accounting, Actuarial Science, Business Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Programming, Computer Science, Digital/Electronic Marketing, Finance, Engineering , financial management, graphic arts, graphic design, law, management/business economics, market research, mathematics, statistics, taxation and visual arts.

FIRS added that relevant Masters degrees and professional affiliations (eg ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, COREN, NSE, etc) will be an added advantage.

To apply, interested candidates have been directed to submit their applications through the official FIRS recruitment portal: www.firs.gov.ng/careers.

“Important: Candidates must apply to only one of the listed slots. Women, minorities and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply,” FIRS wrote.

The service has also warned interested candidates to be wary of fraudulent recruitment activities and advises them to use only the official FIRS website for applications.

FIRS said that regardless of the positions advertised, successful candidates must be prepared to work at any of FIRS’ business locations.

“Only selected candidates will be contacted for further assessments, which may include aptitude tests, interviews and medical examinations,” FIRS said.
