Bryan Cranston, Lily Gladstone Set For Conspiracy Thriller ‘Lone Wolf’

EXCLUSIVE: Oscar nominees Lily Gladstone (Killers Of The Flower Moon) and Bryan Cranston (Trumbo) have been set to star in action-thriller Lone Wolf.

Mark Pellington (Arlington Road) is set to direct from an original screenplay by Tom Chilcoat. Ted Hope and his Double Hope banner is producing alongside Christine Vachon and her Killer Films, in association with Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman of Yale Productions.

The conspiracy thriller will follow a troubled vet (Gladstone) struggling with addiction who is recruited by a contractor (Cranston) for a covert government plot to assassinate a high-level politician. After learning she’s set to take the fall, she must utilize all of her skills to outwit the shadow agents to protect the future of her son.

Great Escape is handling sales with the UTA Independent Film Group jointly handling domestic at the upcoming American Film Market.

Executive producers include Sean Krajewski, Ronnie Exley, Lawrence Minicone and Jeremy Ross of Rabbits Black, coming off the success of Long legs. Additional executive producers on the project include Donnermeyer, Will Hirschfeld, Edmund Lowell, Jonathan Bijari, Barry Schneider, Scott Levenson, Jason Kringstein and Marsha L. Swinton. Co-executive producers include Declan Morgan, Jeremy Rothstein, and Brandon Freeman.

Yale Productions said: “We’ve been looking for the right project to bridge our expertise in exciting action-driven work for the world market, with the more festival and awards fare that Christine and Ted are known for. Mark Pellington has long been a favorite director of ours, both for his groundbreaking music videos and powerful features. His return to the paranoid thriller genre of Arlington Road and Mothman Prophecies is right for these times. We hope to be presenting this at all the top 2025 fall festivals.”

“We shared Lone Wolf early with Yale – before any attachments,” Pellington added, “and they got the vision to make the sort of intense character-based thriller that Tom and I want. They leapt in with Ted and Christine and made it happen with Lily and Bryan. You’ve got to love that attitude and “make-it-happen” spirit.”

“We couldn’t ask for a better cast than Lily and Bryan,” Vachon expressed. “They are each so deeply committed to the roles. Each said ‘yes!’ days after we submitted.”

Hope added: “Thanks to Tom’s script and Mark’s vision, there was none of that ‘hurry up and wait’ that usually plagues the process.”

Gladstone is coming off an Emmy-nominated performance in the Hulu limited series Under The Bridgeand her lead role in the Apple feature, Fancy Dance. She will next be seen starring in Andrew Ahn’s remake of The Wedding Banquetopposite Bowen Yang.

Emmy winner Cranston most recently starred in Matthew Vaughn’s Argyll and lent his voice to Kung Fu Panda 4. Up next, he will star in Everything’s Going to Be Great opposite Allison Janney.

Mark Pellington has created more than 100 music videos with U2, Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, REM, Michael Jackson, Demi Lovato, Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails, Public Enemy and more. Movies included Going All The Way (1997), Arlington Road (1999), The Mothman Prophecies (2002), et al Nostalgia (2018) with Jon Hamm.

Carol, Still Alice duck May December producer Killer Films is coming off the latest Oscar nominee Past Lives. Indie vet Hope launched Amazon’s foray into feature film production, leading them to 19 Oscar nominations and five wins. As a producer, his films have received 25 Oscar nominations, with six wins. Previously Hope was co-founder of Good Machine.

Rabbits Black is a collective of companies and partners that invest and operate in ventures across film, music, hospitality, and sports. It acts as a merchant bank for many of its portfolio companies. Investments included Longlegs, Rumorsetc Goodrich. Yale Entertainment’s credits included The Kill Room, Stowaway, After Everything duck Parachute.
