Abdelaziz Barrada: Former Morocco and Marseille midfielder dies at 35

Former Morocco and Marseille midfielder Abdelaziz Barrada passed away at the age of 35.

The cause of death has not yet been confirmed, but reports in the Moroccan press claim that he had a heart attack.

Barrada retired from football in 2021 after making 26 international appearances for his country, including playing at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. He scored four goals, the last of which was in 2015.

The Moroccan Football Federation paid tribute to his death on social media, calling it a “great loss”.

“The Royal Moroccan Football Federation expresses its sincere condolences to the family of the late Abdelaziz Barrada, the former Moroccan football player, and through them to all his family and relatives, as well as to the national football family,” the statement said.
