Dothan man found guilty of murder in deadly nightclub attack | WDHN

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A Dothan man was found guilty by a jury of his peers in the murder of a 51-year-old Geneva man who police said tried to act like a “good Samaritan” and break up a fight.

On Thursday, October 24, Dekeivon O’Keith Lawton was found guilty of one count of murder in the death of Roger Shane Felder.

Dothan Police said Felder was shot multiple times in the parking lot of the Pearl Lounge and Grill in late March 2023 after he tried to act as a ‘good samaritan’ and de-escalate a fight inside the nightclub.

Felder was transported to a Dothan hospital following the shooting and later died from his injuries.

Lawton was the third suspect arrested in Felder’s murder.

Two other suspects, Raheem Powe and Nakia Kentae Thompson, testified against Lawton during his four-day trial.

The jury deliberated for approximately three and a half hours before returning a guilty verdict.

Lawton will be sentenced at a later date.
