BREWER, Maine (WABI) – Motorists in Brewer should be aware of a major water main outage.

The incident is happening at the intersection of North Main Street and State Street.

Brewer’s Public Works supervisor told TV5 that this break is about 100 feet downstream from another water main break that occurred Monday and the two are connected.

He said that the inspection carried out by his teams revealed corrosion in the pipes.

While they are trying to repair this latest rupture, they are also trying to determine their next steps.

Brewer city officials say traffic will be diverted through that area at least through the end of Friday.

They ask drivers to be patient and know teams are working as quickly as they can to rectify the situation.
