BROCKTON, Mass. (WLNE) — A 26-year-old man accused of stabbing his father to death will await trial on murder charges The result of the competency assessment is awaited.

Police say Matthew Paluzzi stabbed and killed his 73-year-old father after an argument in August.

He told police he was “running away,” according to prosecutors.

Her mother told police Paluzzi was suffering from mental health issues when she called 911 after finding her husband.

Paluzzi was arrested Hannover regarding the investigation.

He will appear in court again on November 14.
