Giants talk about Watt, Wilson and more

Quarterback Daniel Jones on the Steelers’ defense and playing in Pittsburgh:
“Good defense, it’s a tough place to play. Frankly, we heard that. But we focused on us. I think we put a lot of time and energy into them and what they do. I focused on us and I’m playing well.” We started to do a lot of the things we did as a group again, and we spent a lot of time improving on them. Frankly, the week was not a good game. However, we played with rhythm at some points. “We need to get back to that and that’s what we’re focused on.”

Linebacker Bobby Okereke explains what makes playing in Pittsburgh difficult:
“They’ve got a great history, they’ve got a great culture in the organisation, they’ve got a lot of pride. Their fans bring that to every game. You really feel that black and yellow on game day. So understand that you’re going into a game. It’s a hostile environment. Playing great defense means playing football. We understand they want to manage and take care of it, so we need to create turnovers in front of us and stop the run.”

Okereke on whether this type of challenge can bring a team together:
“Of course. In a hostile environment you have an ‘Us against the world’ mentality. Surely a cohesive group will give us victory.”

Wide receiver Darius Slayton while playing for Pittsburgh:
“From what I’ve heard, it’s an intense football environment and very hostile. The guys in Pittsburgh are very passionate fans.

“That’s what I’ve heard from all sources, and it’s clear on film that their defense is very talented. They’ve got a really good lineup up front. They’ve got talent and youth on the back end. They’ve got backers that are aggressive and I think probably think back… before some of you were born, the Steelers had a standard on defense.” had reached.
They have been defending this for a very long time and they are still defending the truth.

“Obviously we’re going to need a physical four-quarter game to beat them.”

Guard Jon Runyan talks about what he sees from the Steelers defense and how difficult it is to play in Pittsburgh:
“I think the Steelers are probably one of the best examples of consistency in this league. They’ve been doing it very well, very solidly, for a long time.

“Their defense hasn’t changed forever, and they’ve got the right guys, they’ve got the right culture. They’ve got playmakers all over the defense, and they pride themselves on that in Pittsburgh.”

“Everyone knows they are getting very good results at both ends and that they are big and strong on the inside. They have great support at the back and their defenders are playing very well at the moment too.

“It’s a tough, tough defense, but it’s going to be a great atmosphere Monday night in Pittsburgh. I know Pittsburgh is a big football city, and it’s going to be a great environment Monday night when they start playing their fourth quarter music and the towels start waving. I’m looking forward to it. It’s going to be really loud.” “I’m sure this is one of the environments we thrive in. We’ve played in some tough environments so far this year and I know the kids will be excited and prepared this time.”
