Police investigating murder in Grand Forks

GREAND FORKS, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A homicide investigation is ongoing in Grand Forks after a man died of suspicious injuries Thursday night.

The Grand Forks Police Department responded to Cherry St. just after 9 p.m. on Oct. 24 for a report of an unresponsive man. He was called to a residence in the 100 Block.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the 49-year-old victim with suspicious injuries. Authorities said they resorted to life-saving measures and transported the victim to Altru Hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead.

Police are currently withholding the identity of the victim and awaiting notification of next of kin.

Authorities said a person of interest in the case has been identified and that the person and the victim are believed to know each other. Due to the ongoing investigation, the identity of the person involved is not being released at this time.

Police say this is an active and developing investigation. Updates will be made as they become available, but no further information is being released at this time.
