Nonprofit helps with adoption and awareness

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – November is National Adoption Month and we want to raise awareness about adoption.

K8 News spoke with Arrow Adoptions, a local nonprofit that helps expectant mothers adopt their children.

The non-profit organization helps find the right children for a loving home.

Executive Director Caleigh Parker said this year the organization had its first annual fundraiser earlier this month.

“This year we had our first annual fundraiser and we had a sneaker soirée where we raised $8,000,” Parker said. “There at our soiree we recognized different families who have adopted, we recognized birth mothers and shared adoption testimonies.”

Parker also said that while there have been a lot of reforms in recent years that have made adoption easier, there is still a big challenge.

“One of the biggest challenges that exists right now is the price of private adoption, so of course it can range from ten to fifty thousand across the country, but our goal and our organization is to keep adoption costs down,” Parker said.

Arrow Adoptions has been an organization since 2020 and Parker has also adopted children. She said she loves helping both expectant mothers and families looking to adopt on their journeys.
