Quincy shares tribute to late mom Kim Porter while seemingly shading dad Al B. Sure

Quincy Brown remembers his late mother Kim Porter on the anniversary of her death, while seemingly overshadowing his father, Al B. Sure.

On Friday, Nov. 15, the sixth anniversary of her death, Porter’s oldest son, who she shares with the “Nite and Day” singer, 56, shared a post on social media.

“Here’s a rare photo of me with my mom and dad. I miss you everyday,” Quincy, 33, captioned the photo Instagram post.

The only image uploaded showed a young, toddler-aged Quincy sitting inside a toy car like Porter – who died of lobar pneumonia 2018, aged 47 – smiled as he crouched down to hug him. Al B. Sure (born Albert Joseph Brown III) was nowhere to be seen in the picture.

When Quincy was 3 years old, Porter started dating Sean “Diddy” Combsand the mogul, 55, eventually accepted Brotherly love actor and raised him as his own child.

Since the Bad Boy rapper’s home was was raided by federal agents in March amid allegations of sex trafficking, leading to his arrest in September in New York City, Quincy and his father have a strained relationship played out publicly.

Despite Brown’s plea, in late October, six of Combs’ seven children—Quincy, Justin, Christian, Chance and twins D’Lila and Jessie — shared a joint statement “supporting” Diddy following his indictment on charges of sex trafficking, extortion and transportation to engage in prostitution. (The hip-hop mogul’s seventh child, daughter Love Seanis 2 years old.)

“The past month has devastated our family,” theirs joint statement began. “Many have judged both him and us based on accusations, conspiracy theories and false stories that have become absurd on social media.”

They continued, “We stand united and support you every step of the way. We stand by the truth, knowing it will prevail, and nothing will break the strength of our family. WE MISS YOU AND LOVE YOU DAD. Quincy, Justin, Christian, Chance, Jessie & D’Lila.”

Speaking to PEOPLE exclusively for an interview in April 2023, months before Combs’ ex, Cassandra “Cassie” Venturasubmitted one bomb trial to the “All About the Benjamins” rapper, Quincy shared what it was like to be raised by the mogul.

“I think I’ve been a sponge,” he said of growing up around Combs, adding, “just seeing how he can manage and juggle all these things, I took that from him as my main takeaway.”

To mention Diddy who previously brought his kids on tour, Quincy told PEOPLE“I think my pops felt safer with us there, no matter what. He needed his family there, and I think it was a win-win to have your kids as your road dogs. It made everything go better .”
