International experts on ZNPP regularly hear sounds of explosions nearby — IAEA chief – World

VIENNA, November 15. /PAW/. Experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), deployed at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), regularly hear sounds of explosions nearby, but did not see any damage to the plant, said IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.

“The IAEA team has continued to hear explosions on a daily basis, although no damage to the facility was reported,” Grossi said in a statement posted on the agency’s website.

The IAEA also said it was aware of a media report that a resident of the nearby town of Enerhodar, where most of the factory staff live, was killed in a military strike. The organization does not have information on whether this person was a ZNPP employee or not.

On Friday, Russia’s Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation informed the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) of massive Ukrainian attacks on the city of Energodar, which hosts the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev said.
