Metairie woman Crystal Coleman’s probation revoked, sentenced to 7 years for violating no-contact order with teenager

JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (WVUE) – A Jefferson Parish judge has sentenced Crystal Coleman, 41, to seven years in prison after finding the Metairie woman violated probation stemming from her relationship with a teenage boy.

The sentence, handed down on Thursday (November 14), follows an incident in which officials say Coleman ignored a court order to avoid contact with the 15-year-old.

In April, Coleman pleaded guilty to indecent behavior with a juvenile in connection with her consensual relationship with the teenager in early 2023.

Judge Nancy Miller initially suspended Coleman’s seven-year sentence, placing her on probation with a strict no-contact condition regarding the teenager.

However, probation officials reported that in August Coleman tried to meet the teenager by driving to St. Tammany Parish, where she was reportedly spotted by the boy’s father at an event the teenager attended.

Coleman’s probation officer then asked the court to revoke her probation, leading to Thursday’s hearing.

Coleman’s attorney urged Judge Miller to continue the probation, citing that Coleman has a young daughter. However, the judge regretted her initial leniency in April.

“She put everything on the line to go ahead and violate the protective order,” Miller said before revoking Coleman’s probation.

Additionally, attorneys say Coleman had social media communications with the teenager after her arrest. Her probation prohibited all contact with the youth.

A new order of protection was issued preventing Coleman from contacting the teenager until April 2031.
