Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) announced today that it has won two Industry Awards from the Money Management Institute (MMI) and Barron’s. The awards include a Wealth Manager Platform of The Year Award for The Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) Select UMA Platform and a Distribution Excellence Award for Morgan Stanley’s Field Engagement Initiative.

The Wealth Manager Platform of the Year category honors wealth manager platforms that exemplify innovation to deliver better results for investors and financial advisors. The award was presented for Morgan Stanley Wealth Management’s (MSWM) Select UMA Platform, a unified managed account program designed to simplify the investment process and provide comprehensive asset management. The platform offers tailored asset allocation advice tailored to the client’s objectives and risk tolerance and aims to put the collective experience of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management’s clients, financial advisors and asset managers first when constructing and maintaining appropriate and tailored investment portfolios.

The Distribution Excellence category honors companies that provide exemplary and innovative sales support for advisors both in the field and from the home office. Morgan Stanley received the award for its Field Engagement Initiative, which is focused on dramatically improving the impact of its financial advisors’ practices by equipping them with resources to ensure they can deliver the full force of the firm to their client relationships.

The winners were selected by a specially appointed MMI Industry Awards Steering Council. The steering council consists of representatives from all parts of the MMI membership. After carefully reviewing the submitted nominations, the Governing Council determined a list of finalists in each award category. The primary contacts at each of MMI’s 207 member companies were eligible to vote to select the winners. The nominations were reviewed and evaluated to determine the finalists June 2024 – July 2024. The finalists were voted on to select a winner August 2024.

MMI/Barron’s receives no compensation from the participating companies in exchange for the prize and Morgan Stanley paid no fee to MMI/Barron’s in exchange for receiving the prize.
