Station Casinos claims national labor board unconstitutional

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – On Tuesday, Station Casinos filed a lawsuit arguing that the National Labor Relations Board lacks the authority to prosecute claims against them.

Station Casinos says they are seeking a temporary and permanent injunction to stop the ongoing lawsuits against them.

In the lawsuit, Station Casinos says the NLRB’s structure is unconstitutional. They challenge the NLRB’s right to deny the company a jury trial and act as prosecutor, judge and jury in the same case.

Station Casinos is seeking to halt a lawsuit filed by the NLRB in 2021. The board filed a nearly 100-page complaint against Station Casinos filled with allegations dating back to 2018.

Station Casinos said its board also joined the Las Vegas Culinary Association’s campaign, prompting thousands of requests for an investigation.

The company says the NLRB failed and is threatening to take away the employee’s right to choose whether he wants to join a union.

Station Casinos says all but one of its employees rejected the kitchen union.

FOX5 received a statement regarding the lawsuit from the Las Vegas Culinary Association.

The union said Station Casinos filed the lawsuit because of corporate interests regarding workers’ rights.
