Bexar County deputies rescue malnourished horse, arrest man on multiple charges

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – A Bexar County horse was rescued after he was found to be malnourished and in terrible condition.

One person was arrested in connection with the discovery.

BCSO deputies were searching for Guillen Vidal Reyes in South Bexar County on Tuesday for an unrelated fatal incident.

Deputies searched his property and that’s when they found the poor horse starving to death and surrounded by feces.

Reyes claimed that the horse did not belong to him and that it had entered his property six days earlier.

Investigators later found that a horse trailer on the property had been stolen.

The horse was taken to the veterinarian.

Reyes was arrested on animal cruelty charges and will face charges on three outstanding warrants.
